In July, as part of our agricultural manufacturing tour series this year, Leprino Foods hosted several representatives from the City for a tour of the Greeley Leprino Foods factory. Leprino arrived in Greeley ten years ago, taking over the former Great Western Sugar site. Since then, they have expanded several times and continue to thrive with over 500 employees and hundreds of millions of dollars in plant investment. The tour, organized by Economic Health and Housing staff, included City Councilmembers Dale Hall and Tommy Butler and representatives from several city departments.
Leprino, the world’s largest mozzarella cheese manufacturer, provided an impressive walk-through of their facility. The tour showcased both the making of cheese and the production of a myriad of nutritional supplement products, all sourced by local dairies surrounding Greeley and shipped to customers around the world.
The next time you enjoy a slice of pizza, say a little thanks to Leprino Foods in Greeley!
